Open Lounges

Open Lounges

Where strangers become friends + friends

become family

Following the pattern of the New Testament church, we believe there is so much more to Christian community than a single weekly worship service. Cornerstone's popular Open Lounges are weekly Monday evening gatherings in members' homes across the city to facilitate deeper friendships and deeper faith. Hosted by designated leaders and open to all, regulars and guests, Open Lounges are groupings of eight to 20 people who meet in a relaxed and informal environment to encourage one another in understanding and living out the gospel of Christ. Open Lounge is where strangers become friends and friends become family.

'BIBLICAL MANHOOD'

#Men     #BiblicalManhood

Society today bombards us with images and ideas of what a “real man” should look like. From the type of job he “should have," to the kind of car he "should drive,” to the kind of sports he “should be” skilled at, and countless other things. Keeping up with this list can be exhausting!

Biblical manhood, on the other hand, is intended to liberate man into the very purpose with which God created man. The aim of the Men's Ministry is to build up men of God by looking at biblical wisdom rather than going with the latest fad.

As we explore our theme for the season “Biblical Manhood”, we look to Scripture to understand the equality between man and woman (both made in God’s image), and to appreciate the differences in function. We discuss what this means for our roles and responsibilities as sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers. With a clear biblical understanding of these roles, we can build a firm foundation and ensure strong communication and relationships within our families.

During our morning meetings, we spend time together in worship before diving into a study. We are currently looking at “Discipleship Essentials” by Greg Ogden. This guide walks us through what being a disciple of God looks like and how to fully live the way God intended us to.

We’re a multi-cultural and multi-generational group of guys! All men are welcome to attend as we gather to encourage one another and learn from God’s word.

Many men have been blessed by the fellowship and community that’s offered in this ministry, and appreciate the safe setting to share testimonies and be vulnerable.

We meet twice a month on Saturday mornings in the city.

For more information please chat with John Savio
or Robert Charnley or complete the form below and we will connect with you.

EMPOWERING WOMEN FOR VICTORIOUS LIVING

Women's Ministry

EMPOWERING WOMEN FOR VICTORIOUS LIVING

#WomenOfDestiny     #Empowered

5 things you may not know about the Women’s Ministry:

1. It’s not limited to church goers
All ladies are welcome, not just members of Cornerstone. The sessions are ideal to invite female friends/family/colleagues
that God has laid on your heart.
2. The ministry has been running for seven years
Since launching in 2010, a total of 16 in depth studies have been covered. The ministry has grown from strength to strength,
multiplying in numbers, and now has three groups that meet in different locations around the city.
3. It’s not just stuffy theology
The Women’s Ministry aims to offer practice advice from the Gospel, with doctrine relevant today to help empower women in Christ.
This is for real people, with real issues, in real life.
4. Saturdays aren’t just for career gals
All women are welcome to attend the Saturday monthly sessions, not only those in full time employment. We understand
that everyone's schedules are different, and a choice of four meeting venues and times offers flexible solutions for all.
5. Women’s lives have been transformed through this ministry
Broken marriages have been restored, physical ailments healed, spiritual emptiness made whole, and emotional distress
comforted, all through God’s transformational work and the support and fellowship of the women in this group.

Cornerstone’s Women’s Ministry is the ideal group for those hungry for the Word, looking to further ignite their passion in Christ, and to dive into deep sessions in Scripture. The aim of this ministry is not just to provide doctrine, but practical advice relevant for Godly living today, and to see lives transformed as women become empowered to walk in their calling. This group is for real people, with real issues,
in real life. Many women will also testify that it is a wonderful platform for long-lasting friendships to form and to benefit from regular fellowship, through an authentic and informal setting.

Previous studies have included courses on the women of the Bible; the gifts of the Holy Spirit; the fruits of the Spirit; life lessons from the story of David; knowing Jesus through Song of Songs; and rethinking our intimacy and destiny in God through the book of Daniel.

Meeting Times:

We have four groups, meeting in different venues around the city.

Our Tuesday and Thursday groups meet once every week, our Saturday groups meet on the last Saturday of every month.

All groups are starting again in September.

For  details on venues or to attend one of these meetings, please contact our team below.

Because there's no junior Holy Spirit

#RaisingUpAPriesthood

Cornerstone Kids meet during our Friday Celebration Meetings, with children heading to classes for various age groups at the start of the meetings. There will be classes during service on both our Downtown and Yas Locations, please register your kids.
Kids will join FOR WORSHIP FIRST  before breaking to classes.

We have five groups:
DOVES (0-2) & nursing mums
LAMBS (3&4)
BEARS (5&6)
EAGLES (7&8)
LIONS (9-11)

Our children’s ministry follows the "Kids Carrying The Kingdom" curriculum developed by Mike and Marilyn Seth, from Bethel Church in Redding, California. This not only builds up children in their knowledge of Bible stories, but also encourages them to apply what they have learnt into their young lives through the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. Children who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour are encouraged to use the gifts of the Holy Spirit just as believing parents are.

Our approach to children's ministry is that it is neither child-minding nor "church" for children, but a safe and fun place where children can grow in their understanding of the gospel of Christ in order to be fruitful members of the church as a whole.

Stripe Youth

DARING to see LIVES transformed
14 - 18

One of the coolest Youth groups in town, Cornerstone’s STRIPE (the S is for Salvations, T for Transformation, R for Revelation, I for Imagination, P for Passion for Jesus, and E for Eternally) is a multi-cultural gathering of high school-age believers and seekers, from 14 to 18 [British System 9+  |  American & IB Systems - Grade 8+].

Led by eldership couple Duane and Isabel Furstenburg, STRIPE usually meets on alternate Friday evenings from 6pm-9:30pm. The guys catch up over food before STRIPE's own band Relentless kicks off the worship part of the evening with great new songs, including some of their own. The format for every evening is flexible and fun, but one thing is guaranteed: the Word of God will be central, and will be unpackaged in such an imaginative and engaging way that the life-lessons will be hard to forget.

Away from home, the STRIPE gang are adventurous travellers. Frequent visitors to Sri Lanka, STRIPE's leaders and members organize and host the annual STRIPE Truth Conference in Colombo, which attracts up to 700 youth from all over the country. They also regularly join other members of Cornerstone on ministry trips to countries such as Sri Lanka, India and Nepal, where their testimonies and skits have won them many friends. Closer to home, visits to Snake Gorge in Oman and overnight stays at regional activity and water parks have been purely for fun, but have built-up character and camaradery.

They may be faithful, fun and fearless, but one of the best qualities of this amazing group of young people is that although they are super cool, they are not too cool to embrace newcomers - even the quietest 14 year old will be warmly welcomed on their first visit to STRIPE and will find themselves included in the fun by a bunch of new brothers and sisters.

For further information about STRIPE Youth, check the Calendar on this site; or call Duane Furstenburg on 055 100 3976; or e-mail connect@cornerstoneabudhabi.com.

Emerge

EMERGE

12 - 13 YEARS

Emerge Youth is the latest edition of the youth community at Cornerstone. This group is for any and all young people who are 12 and 13 years old [year 7 & 8 in the British system and grade 6 & 7 in the American and IB systems].

We are all about connecting with new friends and an amazing team of youth leaders while having a lot of fun together as we explore the grace and truth of Jesus!

This group is interactive! We like to explore together, discuss together and learn together. No session or event is just about sitting and listening to what someone else thinks. We read and discuss God’s word together to see what HE thinks, and every question is a good question as we grow together!

And we are also interACTIVE! We love action: games, activities, competition and even the odd prize!

We are called EMERGE because we pray that as our group is emerging into their teenage years they will also be emerging into new life in Christ, through the Holy Spirit.

~ Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17

For further information about EMERGE Youth, check the Calendar on this site; or call James Gerber on 055-760-3891; or e-mail connect@cornerstoneabudhabi.com.
